Parasite Tree Increase Immunity to Fight HIV/AIDS

As a traditional medicine, since long time ago, people in many countries have used parasite tree/sponger to cure some diseases. As we can read from “Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal (1887)”. Sponger has known well by Indonesia people, especially in Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan Island.

Then in 1983 other research found that parasite tree of citrus tree, tea tree, and banyan tree can demolish tumor too. And after a year research found that sponger of tapak dara (Catharanthus roseus) leafs, can be used as alternative cancer medicine.

In Indochina, parasite tree leaf from Dendrophthoe pendra L. Miq. Species often mixed with tea, and used as flu medicine. While parasite tree leaf from Scurruls ghrscififolia species used to cure rheumatic, ulcer and to tightened teeth and hair.

People use the other species, Viscum Articulatum Burm. F that is boiled with a water and then being drunk twice a day to cure bronchitis symptom. In China whole part of Scurrula parasitica (other species of parasite tree) that has been dried up, used to strengthened kidney, and to ease uterus during birthing, strengthened backbone, reduce puffiness and alley backache.

Chinese also use parasite tree to cure liver abnormality and to stimulate hair growth. While Viscum Articulatum being used to cure tuberculosis.

What is inside parasite tree? Why it is so powerful as a medicine? Acording to Richter in Phytochemistry No. 31 (1992), parasite tree, Loranthaceae and Viscaceae contain of many flavonoid, like chalcones, flavanones, c-glycoflafonols, and flavan-3-ols.

Flavonoid it self has benefit to protect parasite tree from damage caused by ultraviolet ray and has responsibility to flower, fruit and leaf coloring.

In pharmacology, flavonoid has known as a anti-inflammation compound, antioxidant, analgesic, antivirus, anti HIV, prevent from heart poisoning, anti-fat over plus, stimulate body immunity and as a vasodilator, to protect from blood coagulating, anti allergy and anti cancer.

The existence of flavonoid supported by other substances that are also cfound in parasite tree, like praline, hydropoline, myoinositol, and chironosotils. While parasite tree of Loranthaceae family, assured contain a lot of tannin. This composite found in parasite tree because of gallic acid and catechin collaboration, that causes sufficiently high level of tannin inside parasite tree’s leaf and stem.

In pharmacology, tannin being used as diarrhea medicine, antidote, antivirus, anti cancer, and anti HIV.

Beside parasite tree sins to other plant, parasite tree has potentiality to be used as powerful herbal medicine. Like a people, parasite tree also has a good side and bed side. :)

Using Guide:

Parasite tree ingredient usually be put in container that made from clay, like cooking pot or jug. The using of clay referred to neutralize parasite tree's poison.

that's why we can't use parasite tree by arbitrary. And can't use it as easy as when we use another herbs.

Parasite tree ingredient can be boiled for several times (at least twice), because it quality would not be gone by just once boil. But advised, to only use 5 - 10gr for once boils. Keep no more than 10gr. Ask a fitochemistry or etnobotany if you're not sure.
